2012年是回归之年,无论是伸展台上所预测的流行趋势,还是配饰精心的点缀,无疑不向经典致敬。Missoni出品的顽皮猴子吊坠珠宝耳环,Versace的海马珠宝戒指,Lanvin的立体蛇形珠宝项链……在2012的流行秀场里,这些造型迥异的配饰,为服装点睛,扮演着让人难以忽视的角色。

珠宝之于女人,就如同钟表之于男人,一个用来装点女人的气质和典雅,一个用来提升男人的气场和品味,其闪耀是任何人都无法抵挡的致命诱惑。

要追踪珠宝的动物奇遇记,还得从传奇的珠宝品牌卡地亚说起。起初,路易·卡地亚用一些小型的石头雕塑制作了一些装饰性的动物作品,以全新的手法来诠释世纪初由俄罗斯设计师法贝热所创造出的微缩世界,展现一个更加丰富多彩的大自然。

蛇的鳞片、瓢虫的翅膀、猫头鹰的头、鹦鹉的羽毛,卡地亚的作品在细节中传递着不同时代的审美趣味。纵观其众多的传世臻宝,足以称得上是一座真正的动物美术馆。1906年,卡地亚在巴黎制作了一款猫头鹰晚宴包,浮雕雕刻的磨砂黄金材质,镶嵌玫瑰式切割的四颗圆形祖母绿钻石,这款黄金网状的晚宴包惊艳非常。

卡地亚的动物珠宝就如同一个神奇的盒子,装满了大自然的赋予。而卡地亚这位传奇的珠宝大师,在形式、抽象学、几何学和动物之间变幻,游刃有余。1920年,他创作出一款独特的香烟盒作品,只用极简的黑玛瑙和黄金,惟妙惟俏地呈现了一直鳄鱼栖息在岩石上,准备吞食黑月亮。

当以卡地亚为首的珠宝品牌掀起动物珠宝设计浪潮之后,设计们与艺术家们意会到动物世界的巨大灵感,纷纷开始效仿。以动物的模型,展现着人类世界,不但表达了爱情和生命等主题,甚至还能表现战争与和平等重大主题。

成语是人们长期以来习用的、形式简洁而精辟的定型的词组或短句。不少成语都蕴藏了丰富的生物学知识,将适当的生物成语引入课堂,不仅丰富课堂内容,更能加深学生们对生物学知识的掌握,现列举一些反应生物种间关系的成语。

1.螟蛉有子,蜾蠃负之——捕食

该成语出自《诗经·小雅·小宛》。螟蛉是一种绿色小昆虫,蜾蠃是一种寄生蜂。古人误认为蜾蠃喂养螟蛉为子,常把螟蛉比喻为义子。其实不然,蜾蠃常捕螟蛉为食,并以产卵管刺入螟蛉体内,注射蜂毒使其麻痹,产卵在它们体内,待卵孵化后就拿螟蛉作为食物。不难看出,该成语反映的是不同生物之间的捕食现象。值得注意的是,蜾蠃只是螟蛉的拟寄生者,它们不是真正的寄生关系,因为真正的寄生者是不以宿主为食的。

2.螳螂捕蝉,黄雀在后——捕食和适应的相对性

《韩诗外传》卷十中记载:“螳螂方欲食蝉,而不知黄雀在其后,举颈而欲啄而食之也。”螳螂全身绿色或土黄色,头呈三角形,前腿呈镰刀状,活动灵敏自如,能出其不意地捕食蝉。然而有时螳螂却顾此失彼,乐极生悲,在其身后的黄雀对之虎视眈眈,随时可美餐一顿。螳螂依靠其身体的优势轻易地捕食蝉,这是生物对环境的适应。螳螂在捕食蝉的同时,也被黄雀捕食这正是适应相对性的最好体现。此外,螳螂吃蝉,黄雀捕食螳螂,这也反映生态系统中的各生物之间的食物关系,属于食物链的一部分。

3.鹊巢鸠占——竞争

《诗经·召南·鹊巢》有“维鹊有巢,维鸠居之”的记载,说的就是该成语的本义:喜鹊的巢被斑鸠占据了。这两种生物相互争夺资源和空间等的现象叫竞争,竞争的结果可向两个方向发展:一种完全挤掉另一种;通过地理隔离,各占有一定的空间。鹊巢鸠占属于竞争中的第一种情况。

4.癣疥之疾(纤芥之疾)——生物的寄生

此成语用来比喻不在意的小问题或无关紧要的小毛病。其实,从生物学的角度看,癣和疥皆为皮肤病,其对人体的危害是不可轻视的。

癣是皮肤感染霉菌后而引起的一种疾病,霉菌主要侵害皮肤、毛发和指(趾)甲。依据发病部位可分为头癣、手癣、足癣、甲癣、体癣等。这些癣比较顽固,治疗起来非常麻烦,给患者带来很多痛苦。此外,癣还具有一定的传染性,它可通过直接或间接接触传染给他人,也可在自身蔓延。

疥疮是由疥虫引起的传染性皮肤病,多发生在手指间、手腕、肘窝、腋窝、腹股沟等处,呈针头大小的水疮和丘疹。患疥疮的人常有剧烈的瘙痒感觉,特别在夜间更甚,搔抓后极易感染,会引起脓疱疮、淋巴结炎等疾病。虽“癣疥之疾”,也不可轻视。

5.相依为命——生物的共生

现代汉语成语词典解释为:互相依靠着过日子,泛指互相依赖。其实,动物和植物间也存在着这种微妙关系,生物学上称此为共生现象。例如,海葵常固定在寄居蟹的外壳上,当它靠刺细胞防御敌害时,能对寄居蟹起到间接的保护作用。而寄居蟹到处爬行,可使海葵得到更多的食物。再如,在巴西的丛林中生长着一种蚁栖树。这种树树干高大,有节,叶片呈掌状,外形像蓖麻。蚁栖树因栖息蚂蚁而得名。树上栖息的蚂蚁叫益蚁,益蚁能群起攻击专吃树叶的啮叶蚁,从而保护了蚁栖树;而蚁栖树叶柄基部丛生细毛,细毛中常分泌含有丰富蛋白质和脂肪的类似物质,供益蚁食用。

但是,纽约的布朗克斯退伍军人事务医学中心的研究人员史蒂拉・德拉切娃进行的研究有可能改变这种抑郁诱发自杀的解释。德拉切娃和其同事查验了22名自杀死亡者和82名其他原因死亡者的大脑中血清素的细胞表面受体。众所周知,血清素与抑郁相联。而德拉切娃等人检测的血清素是一种独特的5羟色胺受体形式,称为5-HT2C,而5羟色胺受体有24种不同的类型。

德拉切娃等人发现,在大脑的高级功能区,如进行思维的一个区域,自杀者的背外侧前额叶区出现了高水平的5羟色胺受体,不论自杀者是否患其他精神疾病,还是根本就没有精神疾病。尽管大多数自杀者也同时患有其他一些精神疾病,如双相性疾病――抑郁或精神分裂症,但是也有少量的自杀者仅仅只感到有压力。

当然,德拉切娃等人坦承尚不能确定大脑中的这种变化是自杀的诱因,抑或是自杀的结果,但他们的研究提示一些处于高危自杀的人是由于其大脑结构或化学物质产生了变化。

而纽约州立精神病学研究所的米赫兰・巴卡里安进行的研究却是另一种结果。巴卡里安在自己的一项研究中发现,自杀者大脑的参与控制攻击性和其他情绪的区域――颞叶前部的杏仁核较之其他原因死亡者有较低密度的血清素受体。对此结果,巴卡里安的解释是,大脑中的这种差异很有可能原因在于大脑攻击性系统的改变。精神病学的一些研究也发现,富于攻击性与自杀相联。这也可能是处置自己生命的人不能够支配指向自己的攻击性冲动。
