In"BecauseICouldNotStopforDeath"(J712),EmilyDickinsonusesrememberedimagesofthepasttoclarifyinfiniteconceptionsthroughtheestablishmentofadialecticalrelationshipbetweenrealityandimagination,theknownandtheunknown.[1]Byviewingthisrelationshipholisticallyandhierarchicallyorderingthestagesoflifetoincludedeathandeternity,Dickinsonsuggeststheinterconnectedandmutuallydeterminednatureofthefiniteandinfinite.[2]
